Proprietary Seeds

Everyone’s hung up on ownership,
yet reality dictates we’re more prone to leasing—
to renting each other’s company and emotional availability.
Odds reveal that our time will thrive temporarily
—perhaps extend to years—
yet the payment of desire, money, and commitment
will erode the elasticity necessary for success—
will undermine the recipe inherent for bliss.

Of time and this river,
of those eyes and the rapturous post-coital shiver.
Skin upon skin, this currency of lust is limited,
yet the desire to test drive is limitless.
History deigns that time dominates the throes of our wants;
ensures—essentially—that satiation is the perennial crux
of the emotionally affluent.

Within these rapscallion moments let us find the eternity;
let us chase the immensity that is our sumptuous potential;
let us seize the minutes that rue the fickle cosmos daily…
if only to pursue the truth inveterate.
