Rain drops riotous:
dead weight of night stifling sunrise—
gory dread of Day’s commencement.
The ole pre-work resignation:
Ambition restructured
Hubris in remission
Hope diminished
Rain drops of another time,
lead one to believe this storm
will pass.
That the sun shall always reemerge victorious
—minor setback—
upon the meteorological war board.
Past patterns reveal
the flaw inherent in complacency—
the idealism of indecision overwhelming
before the World’s voracious orbit
…as if this giant blender of celestial matter
were pureeing us all
into some cosmic, proletarian
gruel.
