Scorched Tomato Earth

Squashed tomatoes ‘till juices stained shoes,
Trumping ‘round the farmland wilderness.
Summer sky scalding child eyes,
Running amuck in exultant sunny exuberance.

Harvesting the soul of the world;
back breaking sweat of ancestors past.
Toiling in the gathering of life,
Microcosm child mind.

Lay flat on the earth
Sinking slowly into the loamy,
Diffusing the youthful radiance-
Absorbing the nutrient of being.
